Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Educational Qualifications

Navik (General Duty)

  • Passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics from a recognized education board.

Yantrik

  • 10th pass from a recognized board.

  • Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering (minimum 3 years) from an AICTE-approved institution.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years

  • Maximum Age: 22 years

    • For Navik (GD): Born between 01 May 2004 to 30 April 2008.

    • For Yantrik: Born between 01 May 2004 to 30 April 2008.

Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer).


Selection Process

The selection procedure involves four stages:

Stage 1: Computer-Based Exam

  • Objective-type questions

  • Sections: Mathematics, Science, English, Reasoning, and General Knowledge

  • Duration: 60 minutes

Stage 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

  • 1.6 km run in 7 minutes

  • 20 squats (Uthak Baithak)

  • 10 push-ups

Stage 3: Document Verification and Medical Examination

  • Original certificates checked

  • Medical tests as per ICG standards

Stage 4: Final Medical at INS Chilka

  • All selected candidates must pass a final medical exam before joining.

Height
